Q: What do you feel is your biggest accomplishment throughout your collegiate career on the court and in the classroom?
A: I have felt it has been a great accomplishment to play each and every match for the last 4 years. With many ups and downs over the years at times it has been very tough, but biggest thing is that I can say I have given it my all. Academically being on Dean's List every quarter compares to that.
Q: Why did you decide to attend Wright State University?
A: It was a great school, and had a great coach who really wanted to improve the tennis program.
Q: Coming up on your final Spring season, what are your goals for you and your team?
A: The goal for the Spring season is to have the best year yet. To have a winning record and win the conference championship and go to the NCAA's.
Q: Was it a benefit to both your academic and athletic career having your family in close proximity, originally being from Cincinnati, Ohio?
A: It has been nice to have friends and family be able to come a watch some of the matches. Academically, it has also been good be close to home because it has allowed me to set up summer internships that helped me gain valuable business experience.
Q: What is the thing you will miss most about being part of a team as a player and teammate to others?
A: Joking around with my teammates.
Q: What did you find to be the most challenging part of tennis, and how does it compare with the challenges you have had to face in the classroom as a student?
A: Staying on top. It takes much work to be on top, much practice and hard work. This is true on the court and in the classroom.
Q: How has being a student athlete enhanced your college experience at Wright State University?
A: I have always loved playing tennis, and to be able to play at the college level has made my college experience very special.
Q: Has your major in finance and economics altered any of your perceptions about the business world from before you entered college?
A: Though I have learned a lot from my classes, I have much much more to learn.
Q: Can you describe the difficulties of maintaining a high performance level academically while striving to perform at an equal level on the tennis court?
A: It takes hard work and dedication. Being a student-athlete you have to take on the same work-ethic on the court as well as the in the class room.
Q: As a graduating senior, can you offer any advice to your younger teammates or other athletes that may be just starting their own collegiate careers?
A: Enjoy your college experience. Give it your all. Don't hold anything back.
Q: During your off-season, how do you like to spend the extra amount of free time that you have?
A: The last couple summers I have been able to take part in various projects with the Athletes in Action organization. This last summer I was part of Cincinnati-Urban Project where we set up games and bible studies for the urban youth. I have been able to meet so many great friends and I have been able really grow as a person.
Q: What are your career plans after graduation this spring?
A: I am remaining open for my career plans after graduation. I do plan on taking the Certified Financial Analyst Level 1 this summer, then plan on taking a trip to Venezuela to visit my teammate and his family.
