Baker earns All-America honors; Rolf finishes in Top 50 at NCAA Championships

TERRE HAUTE, IND - Butler junior Andy Baker earned All-America honors with a 28th-place showing at the NCAA Cross Country Championships on Monday (Nov. l9) at the Wabash Valley Family Sports Center. His time of 30:22.4 in the 10,000 meter race placed him just four seconds out of the top-20, and exactly one minute behind the race winner. Baker's effort makes him Butler's first male cross country All-American since 2004.

On the women's side, Valparaiso junior Laura Rolf earned a top-50 finish for the second consecutive year, as she completed the 6,000 meter course in 21:10.4. Her effort placed her 48th among a field of 253 runners, and cut 20 seconds off of her time from last year's national meet run on the same course. Butler senior Genni Gardner also competed, finishing in 100th-place, with a time of 21:32.

The Oregon Duck men and Stanford Cardinal women took home the team titles, while Liberty's Josh McDougal and Texas Tech's Sally Kipyego earned the individual crowns.
