INDIANAPOLIS - Butler senior Rob Mullett, Milwaukee senior Quinn Mongoven, Butler freshman Katie Clark, and Milwaukee freshman Samia Taylor have been named Horizon League Track and Field Athletes of the Week for the period of Jan. 18-24.
Mullett, a native of Brighton, U.K., receives the men's track honor after placing second in the mile (4:05.32) on Friday at the Gladstein Invitational in Bloomington, Ind. The honor marks his second of the season.
Mongoven, a native of Twin Lakes, Wis., picks up the men's field award after winning the high jump (2.14 meters) on Saturday against Marquette. Mongoven's NCAA provisional standard broke Milwaukee's school record. He claims his second award this year.
Clark, a native of Beverly, U.K., garners the women's track honor after taking fifth place in the mile (4:53.30) on Friday. Her time broke the Butler women's indoor record.
Taylor, a native of Madison, Wis., collects the women's field award after winning the triple jump (12.13 meters) and placing fourth in the long jump (5.12 meters) on Saturday. Taylor's mark in the triple jump tied Milwaukee's school record.
Butler returns to action on Friday when they head to Bloomington, Ind. for the Indiana Relays. Milwaukee hits the road to Madison on Friday.
