INDIANAPOLIS - Butler senior Joe Macdonald, Loyola senior Michael Jarman, Butler freshman Kirsty Legg, and Milwaukee freshman Samia Taylor have been named Horizon League Track and Field Athletes of the Week for the period of Feb. 1-7.

Macdonald, a native of Manchester, U.K., receives the men's track honor after placing first in the 3,000 meter (8:00.73) on Friday at the Meyo Invitational in Notre Dame, Ind. His NCAA provisional qualifying time ranks him 13th on the NCAA list in the event.

Jarman, a native of Felicity, Ohio, picks up the men's field award after winning the weight throw (19.31 meters) on Friday at the Keck Invite in Bloomington, Ind. His toss was just 0.01 meters shy of his own school record and almost hit the NCAA provisional qualifying mark of 19.50 meters.

Legg, a native of Middlesborogh, U.K., garners the women's track honor after placing fourth in the mile (4:48.27) on Friday at the Meyo Invitational. Her time broke Butler women's indoor record, and narrowly missed the NCAA provisional qualifying standard of 4:48.90.

Taylor, a native of Madison, Wis., collects the women's field award after taking seventh in the triple jump (12.01 meters) on Friday at the Meyo Invitational. Her jump was just short of the NCAA provisional qualifying distance (12.65 meters).

Butler returns to action on Friday when the Bulldogs head to Seattle, Wash. for the Husky Classic. Loyola stays local for the Chicagoland Championships on Friday. Milwaukee heads to Ames, Iowa on Thursday for the Iowa State Classic.
