Indianapolis, Ind. - For the sixth time in the last seven years, the Butler men claimed the Horizon League men's tennis title. On the women's side, UIC won its eighth consecutive Horizon League title. Both teams will earn bids into the 2004 NCAA Tennis Championships.
The top seeded Butler Bulldogs blanked No. 2 UW-Green Bay 4-0 to clinch the title. In other men's tournament action, No. 4 Cleveland State defeated No. 3 UIC to steal third place.
The top seeded UIC women downed No. 2 Butler 4-1 for the championship title. No. 5 Youngstown State claimed third place after defeating No. 6 Cleveland State 4-0. No. 4 Wright State finished in the fifth place position in a 4-1 battle over UW-Green Bay.
