INDIANAPOLIS – Cleveland State’s Mark de Swardt is the Horizon League Men’s Swimmer of the Week and Green Bay’s Daniel Pogue is the Men’s Diver of the Week for Oct.26 – Nov 1.
De Swardt, a junior from Durban, South Africa, won all individual events he competed in on Saturday (Oct. 30) when the Vikings traveled to Miami (Ohio). He took first in the 1,000 free finishing in a time of 9:32.09, 200 fly (1:51.08) and 500 free (4:35.94). He currently leads the Horizon League in all three of those categories. De Swardt also took part in the 400 free relay finishing in a time of 3:14.59.
Pogue, a junior from Chisholm, Minn. and two-time Diver of the Week tallied a season high score of 324.15 in the 1-meter dive on Saturday (Oct. 30) against Wright State. He took second-place in the 3-meter dive scoring 290.40. Green Bay’s victory was the first dual meet win against Wright State in school history.
Cleveland State returns to action at 5pm (EST) on Friday (Nov. 5) traveling to Columbus, Ohio competing against Denison and Ohio State. Green Bay travels to South Dakota State on Friday (Nov. 5) for a 6pm (CST) start and continues on to South Dakota on Saturday (Nov. 6) for a 10am (CST) start.
