DAYTON, Ohio – Detroit continued its strong start to Horizon League play, earning a 2-0 road win over Wright State on Friday night.
Detroit (6-6-0, 3-0-0 Horizon) used two goals in a three-minute span midway through the first half to gain control of the match. Behind Nathan Steinwascher’s six saves, the Titans posted their third shutout of the year.
Adam Bedell found his way onto the scoresheet after a two-match drought, assisting on Detroit’s opening goal in the 24th minute. Bedell’s pass to Matt Harkema led to Harkema’s third goal of the year, giving the Titans a 1-0 lead at the 23:39 mark of the match.
Just 3:15 later, Bedell tallied his Horizon League-leading eighth goal of the season, coming off a feed from Pat Lepera.
Derek Zuniga led Wright State (3-8-1, 1-2-1 Horizon) with two shots on goal.
