Indianapolis—Detroit senior Lindsey Lammers (Milan, Mich.) and Cleveland State senior Shelly Ford (Jefferson, Ohio) have been named Horizon League Co-Golfers of the Week for the period of Mar. 19-25.
Lammers and Ford finished in a three-way tie for first-place with Green Bay freshman Avery Steen. The trio fired a 3-over 74 at the Butler Spring Invitational at the Par 71, 6,085-yard Prestwick Country Club in Avon, Ind.
Lammers rallied down the stretch to birdie her last two holes to take top honors in a scorecard playoff. The victory marks the seventh of her career, which matches a school record. This is the third Golfer of the Week honor for Lammers this season.
Ford, who led the Vikings to a second-place team finish, shot a career-low score and in the process became the third golfer in Cleveland State history to win or tie an event. Her score ranks as the third-lowest in school history.
Cleveland State returns to action April 4 at the Colonel Classic while Detroit competes at the IPFW Spring Invitational April 6-7.
Other Top Golfers (Mar. 19-25):
