INDIANAPOLIS –Detroit’s Pat Liederbach and Milwaukee’s Elise Sigg have been named Horizon League Cross Country Athletes of the Week for the period of Oct. 11-17.
Liederbach, a senior from Petoskey, Mich., took 29th out of 266 runners at the Penn State National on Saturday. Running the 5.2 mile course in a time of 26:03, he helped the Titans take 20th out of a 27 team pool consisting of 18 nationally and regionally ranked teams.
Sigg, a sophomore from Mineral Point, Wis., won her fourth race out of five contests this season at the Bradley Classic on Friday, consisting of 184 runners. She ran the 6K course in a time of 21:05, 12 seconds ahead of the runner-up.
Both teams return to action Oct. 30th at the Horizon League Championships, hosted by Loyola University. The race will take place at Montrose Beach Harbor Park in Chicago, Ill. The women’s race is set to start at 11:00am (EST) with the men’s race following at noon.
