Panthers Down Northwestern, 2-1, In Exhibition Opener

SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- Milwaukee's Sarah Hagen earned 2011 Women's Premier Soccer League (WPSL) Midwest Co-Player of the Year honors, the organization announced.
Playing for F.C. Milwaukee Nationals, Hagen was the second-leading goal scorer in the WPSL, netting 12 goals in the eight-match season. The two-time Horizon League Player of the Year had 80 percent of F.C. Milwaukee's tallies on the year.
Hagen also spent the summer with USA Soccer's Under-23 team, collecting four goals in three matches as the squad went 1-1-1 against Sweden and Norway.
The senior shared the accolade with Michele Weissenhoffer of Notre Dame.
Milwaukee opens its regular season on Aug. 19, when the Panthers meet Michigan State.
