Heger, Carling Named Divers of the Week

Heger, a freshman from Rockford, Ill., earned diver of the week after setting a school-record in the 3-meter dive during Milwaukee’s dual-meet victory over the University of Chicago. Heger finished second in the 3-meter event with a score of 350.85 breaking the school record of 340.50 that had stood since 1992. He also placed second in the 1-meter dive with a score of 304.20.

 

Milwaukee is back in the pool on Saturday when it travels to Macomb, Ill., to face Western Illinois.

 

Carling, a sophomore from Brookfield, Ill., broke school records in the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events during UIC’s Diving Invitational. Carling won the 1-meter event with a score of 291.30 and the 3-meter dive with a score of 307.85. She achieved NCAA zone qualifying scores in both events.

 

The UIC women are back in action on Friday, February 3 when it faces conference foe Youngstown State.
