Vikings Finish 4th At Dayton Flyer 5K Challenge -- Results
KETTERING, Ohio – The Cleveland State cross country team opened the 2014 season Saturday afternoon, placing fourth at the Dayton Flyer 5K Challenge. The Vikings were paced by senior Tori Holt who placed 19th overall.
"We had a very good showing for the first race of the season, and I thought everyone ran well given the limited amount of practice we have had," head coach Joe Jaketic said. "It's always good to beat a Horizon League team, but that just means that we need to continue to work hard and improve our times. One of the things we need to focus on is closing the gaps between our runners and continuing to run as a team." Read more
Creagh Leads Four Runners In Top 10 At Golden Grizzly Open -- Results
ROCHESTER, Mich. (8/29/2014) -- Senior Colin Creagh made a successful return to the course as the veteran powered his was to a runner-up effort as the University of Detroit Mercy men's cross country team its 50th season on Friday at the Golden Grizzly Open.
The 6k race was held on the campus of Oakland University as the red, white and blue claimed second place with 29 points, just two shy of its' nearby rival. Read more
Fetherolf, Baydoun Pace Titans To Second Place In Season Opener-- Results
ROCHESTER, Mich. (8/29/2014) – Freshman Sydnie Fetherolf and senior Zeinab Baydoun both took home honors with top-10 finishes as the University of Detroit Mercy women's cross country team started the 2014 campaign in enemy territory at the Golden Grizzly Open on Friday.

Cross Country Concludes Competition at Home Opener -- Results Men | Women
ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – The UIC men’s and women’s cross country teams opened up the 2014 season Saturday hosting the UIC Home Opener at Lewis University in Romeoville, Ill. The women’s squad earned first place in the 4K race, while the men finished the 6K event in second.
“Tess took control of the race with about 500 meters to go and opened up a huge gap for her victory,” cross country head coach Jim Knoedel said. “I wasn't surprised to see how strong she looked against some very good competition.” Read more
Oakland's Andrew Bowman Wins Golden Grizzly Open Men's 6K -- Results
ROCHESTER, Mich. - Andrew Bowman captured the men's 6K title with a time of 18:40.9 at the 14th annual Golden Grizzly Open held Friday afternoon helping Oakland win the team event with six runners in the top ten. Ashley Burr led the way in the women's 4K finishing second with a time of 14:40.2 as the Golden Grizzlies placed eight runners in the top 11 to claim the team title.
"Very happy with how it went today, everything went smooth and overall it was a great experience for the athletes," said head coach Paul Rice. "I think for the runners sake and a performance standpoint we were very blessed to have what we had as the weather was great. The turn out here was great for the college meet, I don't think I have ever seen this many spectators." Read more
Green Bay Cross Country Opens 2014 Season at UIC -- Results -- Men | Women
ROMEOVILLE, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – The Green Bay men’s and women’s cross country teams opened up the 2014 season on Saturday morning, competing in the UIC Invitational in Romeoville, Ill. The Phoenix men and women dropped dual competitions against Milwaukee and UIC and defeated Chicago State.
Competing on a 4.08K course, junior Sarah Mauel (Green Bay, Wis.) led the Phoenix women finishing in tenth place with a time of 16:40.5. Sophomore Breanna Suess (Luxemburg, Wis.) crossed the line less than two seconds later in 11th place (16:42.1). Read more
Paulson Helps UWM Dominate UIC Opener -- Results
Romeoville, Ill. - Marcus Paulson made an impressive debut in the black & gold by taking first place against all opponents and helping the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee men's cross country team to a dominating three wins at the UIC Opener Saturday morning.
UWM had five of the top seven finishers overall to make a huge statement in the first meet of the season. The Panthers beat host UIC 22-39, conference-rival Green Bay 15-50 and Chicago State 15-48. Read more
Women's Cross Country Bursts Out Of The Gate At UIC Opener -- Results
Romeoville, Ill. - Sophomore Leah Holmes came in second overall and narrowly missed a win in the first meet of the year for the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's cross country team at the UIC Opener Saturday morning.
Holmes crossed the line in 15:53.2 to lead the way for UWM, which had five of the 11 top finishers on the day and came in with two wins over its three opponents on the day. The Panthers fell to host UIC, 22-39, but beat conference-rival Green Bay, 19-40, and Chicago State, 15-50. Read more

Freshman Andrew Lake was running in his first collegiate meet and was tops among the Wright State men's cross country runners with a time of 16:47.2 as sophomore Brittany Bailey paced the WSU women with a time of 20:16 at the Meijer Flyer 5K in Kettering.
Louisville won the men's side while Ohio State was tops among the women's teams. Edwin Kibichiy of Louisville led the way with a time of 15:35.1. Kate Borches of Ohio State led the women at 18:20.0. Read more
McLean Takes First Place at Duquesne; Klim's Lead Women -- Results
Pittsburgh, Pa. - Junior Austin McLean finished first at the Duquesne Duals to pace the men's cross country team in their season opener on Saturday morning. The Klim triplets, McKinsie, Michelle and Melissa, were the top three finishers on the women's side.
McLean became the first Penguin to win the event blazing a time of 26:20.7. McLean's time was the fastest by a Guin at the event ecplising a previous best time of 26:29 by Eric Rupe. Read more
