Horizon League Golfers of the Week (April 12)

INDIANPOLIS – Oakland’s Fiona Schmidt is the Horizon League Women’s Golfer of the Week after she fired an even-par 72 in the final round on her way to a finished runner-up at the Delores Black Falcon Invitational.  Eric Macrow of Detroit Mercy tied for fourth place at the Big Blue Intercollegiate and is this week’s Men’s Golfer of the Week.

MEN’S GOLFER OF THE WEEK | ERIC MACROW | DETROIT MERCY | JUNIOR | KINGSTON, ONTARIO
Junior Eric Macrow led the Titans to a runner-up effort at the Big Blue Intercollegiate tying for fourth with a 217 (71-73-73) scorecard, just four shots off the lead and one shy of his career 54-hole total. It was his third career top-10 effort and the first this season as he topped the team and was tied for second in the field with 11 birdies and his 33 pars was second on the squad. He was fourth in the field with a +1, 4.03 average on the course's par 4's and tied for fourth with an even-par 3.00 average on the par 3’s. His 1-under 71 in the first round was also one shot off his career best and was the best round in the event for the Titans.

WOMEN’S GOLFER OF THE WEEK | FIONA SCHMIDT | OAKLAND | JUNIOR | HOFHEIM, GERMANY
Schmidt shot a final round of 72 (E) to finish runner-up with a two-day score of 148 (+4) as the Oakland women's golf team completed competition April 9 at the Dolores Black Falcon Invitational hosted by Bowling Green. It was her third top-five finish and seventh top-10 finish of the season.
