Softball Co-Players of the Week KATRINA KLEMP ALLISON SCANLIN Klemp hit .500 in 22 at-bats for the 5-2 Titans. She collected 11 hits including five doubles and two home runs and also posted two walks and drove in six runs. Her first round tripper of the week came against Scanlin had four hits last week and all went for extra bases as the left-handed slugger belted three home runs and added a double. After going 9 for 10 (.900) last season in a three-game set at Wright State, Scanlin homered in each game versus the Raiders last weekend and drove in five runs. With the five RBI, she moved into a tie for third on the Loyola career list with 75 RBI and needs only 10 more RBI to equal Stephanie Trenerry's school record. Scanlin posted a.737 slugging percentage last week and was flawless in the field, handling 48 chances without an error. For the year, Scanlin is batting .269 with three homers, six doubles and 14 RBI. In Horizon League action, she is hitting .429 (6 for 14) with a 1.071 slugging percentage. Softball Pitcher of the Week BRITTANY MCINTYRE McIntyre enjoyed a strong week in the circle, going 4-1 with a 1.45 ERA in five appearances. She also helped keep the Flames in first place in the Horizon League with a pair of shutouts in Other Top Player Performances - April 11 Jenny Jacobs, Freshman Jenny Jacobs batted .429 last week and had two home runs and seven RBIs in the team's seven contests. Her walk-off shot in Saturday's 5-4 win over Horizon League foe Whitney Willard, Willard hit .529 last week (9-17) with two runs, a double and a stolen base. She posted three multi-hit games and extended her hitting streak to 11 contests before seeing it come to an end on Sunday. Cameron Astiazaran, Astiazaran help pace the Flames to a 5-3 record in a difficult stretch last week, batting .591 (13-for-22) with two doubles, four home runs and nine RBI. She also was walked seven times for a .690 on-base percentage and tallied a 1.227 slugging percentage for the week. On Tuesday, Astiazaran enjoyed one of the best days of her career in a doubleheader sweep at Bradley. She tied the Cori Thiermann, Thiermann broke out of a hitting slump with a .500 week at the plate. Playing in four of Brittany Riddle, Riddle had two hits and a RBI in the second game at Tiffany Patteson, Patteson batted .333 last week with three doubles and four runs batted in during YSU's 3-4 week. She also posted a slugging percentage of .476 and an on-base percentage of .481 over the last seven games. Other Top Pitching Performances - April 11 Nikki Naffziger, Naffziger posted an impressive 0.78 ERA in four starts last week, allowing just three earned runs in 27 innings of work. Naffziger went 2-2 on the mound with four complete games and a shutout. She combined to allow just three runs in her two hard-luck losses. Naffziger was on the mound for a 1-0 decision Friday afternoon against IUPUI. She allowed just two hits and a walk in the game and fanned eight Jaguars. In Sunday's win over Horizon League foe Anna Ollgaard, Ollgaard went 3-0 for the Titans this week including a 1-0, three hit win at Mia Pangere, Loyola, RHP, Senior ( Pangere posted her first two victories of the season last week in Horizon League action. The right-hander threw 6.0 shutout innings, striking out four in a 4-2 win over the Raiders on April 9. She then yielded a pair of runs in 5.1 innings in a 6-2 victory on April 10. In Horizon League action, Pangere is 2-2 with a 2.62 ERA. Lisa Meissner, With a 1-1 week, Meissner helped the Ashley Lockmiller, Lockmiller went 1-1 last week with a 0.43 earned-run average. She tossed 16.1 innings and allowed just one earned run while striking out 16 batters and allowing her opponents a batting average of just .227. Horizon League News & Notes Freshman Jenny Jacobs has hits in six of her last seven trips to the plate. She leads the team with a .345 batting average...Sunday's game was the 15th one-run game for the Bulldogs, who are now 8-7 in those contests...Butler's 16 wins already match the team's total from last season...JoAnna Gonzalez and Jacobs are each hitting .385 in Horizon League contests, while Melissa Lemrick is just behind with a .381 mark...Butler, as a team, is throwing out 38 percent of attempted base-stealers on the year...The three freshmen in Butler's lineup Sunday - Jenny Jacobs, Amy Hyerczyk and Ashley Barry - combined for seven hits in eight plate appearances. Freshmen Whitney Willard and Amber Lowe are pacing Detroit has won five of their last seven games and sits at 3-2 in the league...currently junior Katrina Klemp is on a season long five game hitting streak that has included two homeruns...sophomore Michelle Baggio collected her first two collegiate homeruns this weekend against YSU with a solo blast on Saturday to give Detroit a 1-0 win and a three run shot Sunday to tie the game at 5-5...after seven road games in a row, the Titans return home to Buysse Ballpark for 12 straight home games before heading back out on the road on April 30 and May 1 in Green Bay. Loyola Ramblers (10-20, 3-2 HL) Loyola went 0-4 against Big Ten foes this weekend as the Ramblers fell twice at Michigan State 0-2 and 1-4 and at Illinois 0-8 and 1-10...Loyola jumped back into the winning column during weekend League action as the Ramblers took two-of-three games from Wright State...Loyola is back in action against Northwestern in a doubleheader on April 12 and then a twin bill at League-foe UW-Green Bay April 14...the Ramblers finish up their week with a three-game series at home against Wright State went 2-3 last week, including an 11-7 win over Loyola in the second game on Saturday's doubleheader...That win broke a 21-game regular-season losing streak in Horizon League play dating back to a 2-1 second-game win over UW-Green Bay on Tiffany Patteson needs to score two more runs to become YSU's all-time runs leader and four more hits to move into fifth-place on the all-time hits list. She has currently scored 93 runs and has 153 total hits. With 41 career doubles, she also needs just seven more doubles to become YSU's all-time doubles leader. She currently ranks third and needs two more to move into second place...YSU is currently 5-12 this season in one-run games.
