INDIANAPOLIS -- Milwaukee’s Brady Huemann and Butler’s Lauren Lambrecht are the Horizon League Men’s and Women’s Swimmers of the Week for Oct. 3-9.
Huemann, a senior from Burnsville, Minn., has earned the first men’s swimmer of the week award for the season. On Friday night, he helped Milwaukee defeat Wisconsin, 149-145, for the program’s first win ever over the Badgers. Huemann won the 100 breaststroke (59.02) and the 200 breaststroke (2:09.35). He also was the second leg on the 400 IM relay team which finished in second place.
Milwaukee returns to action Oct. 15 when it hosts Grand Valley State in the Klotsche Natatorium.
Lambrecht, a sophomore from Morton, Ill., was the first female swimmer of the week this season after winning both of the individual events she competed in to help Butler win its first dual match of the season. She won the 200 Individual Medley (2:16.03) and the 100 fly (1:00.99) and anchored the 200 freestyle relay team that finished second as Butler edged Eastern Illinois, 110-96.
Butler doesn’t compete again until Oct. 28 when the Bulldogs will face IUPUI and Centre College at the IUPUI Natatorium.
