Men's Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week
Jay Schweitzer, UW-Milwaukee, Freshman, Middleton, Wis.
Schweitzer took second place in the 400-meter at the UWM Panther Tune Up, while also running with the first place 4x400m relay that narrowly missed a fieldhouse record. The Middleton native lowered his League-leading time in the 400-meter to 48.93, while also moving up to third on the school's all-time list in the event. In the relay, Schweitzer helped the team to a time of 3:20.86. The Panthers posted a 3-0 record in double dual meet scoring.

Women's Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week
Aaliyah Gillespie, Youngstown State, Senior, Cleveland, Ohio
Gillespie broke her own school record in the 55-meter hurdles with a time of 8.06 seconds to win the event at the Kent State Tune-Up on Saturday. The senior also placed sixth in the 55-meter dash at the meet, running a personal-best time of 7.29 to move into fifth all-time in school history in the event.

Other Top Men's Performers
Marcus Davis, Detroit, Freshman, Fairlawn, Ohio
Davis broke the UDM rookie record in the 800-meters with his time of 1:56.22, coming in fourth overall. He also ran the anchor leg of the 4x400m with fellow freshmen Eric Christy, Kyle Lawson and Andrew Hayner to set another rookie record, with their time of 3:30.20.

Marcus Lesley, UIC, Junior, Markham Ill.
Lesley picked up the Flames' lone victory at the UW-Milwaukee Panther Tune-up with a first-place mark of 7.02 in the 60-meter dash.

Sam Romanoski, Loyola, Sophomore, Lake Zurich, Ill.
Romanoski was the champion in the men's 3,000-meter run this weekend at the UW-Milwaukee Triangular. He clocked in at 8:29.16, recording a new personal best over his previous time of 8:42.55.

Nick Smith, Youngstown State, Junior, Defiance, Ohio
Smith ran a season-best time of 1:54.90 in the 800 to place sixth at the Kent State Tune-Up on Saturday.

Other Top Women's Performers
Andrea Karl, Detroit, Junior, Casco, Mich.
Karl, the League leader in the 1000-meter and currently second in the mile, broke the school record in the 600-meters with her time of 1:37.46 at the Silverston Invite at the University of Michigan. The old record had stood for four years and is the second fastest time in the League this year.

Jenni Goebel, UIC, Senior, Lombard, Ill.
Goebel broke her own record in the 3,000-meter run with a blazing fast, first-place time of 10:14.82 at the UW-Milwaukee Panther Tune-up on Friday evening. Goebel defeated the second-place finisher by over 44 seconds, breaking her previous record of 10:16.98, set as a sophomore in 2002.

Anna Hinterscheid, Loyola, Junior, Reynoldsburg, Ohio
Hinterschied placed herself ninth on the all-time list for Loyola after being crowned the champion in the one mile run (5:02.07) at the UW-Milwaukee Triangular. Her previous best-time in this event was 5:21.17 set this season at the Notre Dame Opener.

Stephanie Ray, UW-Milwaukee, Junior, Racine, Wis.
Ray broke the school record in the pole vault for the second time this season, posting a final height of 12-1 3/4 at the UWM Panther Tune Up. In addition to breaking the fieldhouse mark, she took first place and helped the Panthers to a 3-0 record in double dual meet scoring.

Cassanav Simmons, Wright State, Freshman, Columbus, Ohio
Simmons placed third in the 400-meter dash at the Scarlet and Gray Invitational on the campus of the Ohio State University on Feb. 19.
