INDIANAPOLIS -- Wright State junior Hayden Joblin (Brooklyn, NZ) and Detroit sophomore Chloe Karoub (Farmington Hills, Mich.) have been named the Horizon League tennis Players of the Week.
It is the first weekly award of the season for either player.
Joblin helped lead the Raiders to a 5-2 win at IUPUI, picking up a pair of wins. The junior Kiwi won 6-3, 7-6 at No. 2 doubles and 9-8 in a hard-fought No. 1 doubles match.
Wright State begins Horizon League action this weekend, hosting UIC on Saturday and Valparaiso on Sunday.
Karoub helped Detroit to a pair of victories during the week, winning four times. In a 4-3 Titans win at Duquesne, the sophomore won 6-4, 4-6, 7-5 at No. 2 singles and 8-1 at No. 3 doubles.
In a 6-1 win over Butler, Karoub won 6-2, 6-4 at No. 2 singles and 9-7 at No. 2 doubles. She has now won five straight games.
The Titans also begin Horizon League action this weekend, visiting Youngstown State on Saturday and Cleveland State on Sunday.
