GREEN BAY, Wis. - Green Bay Director of Athletics Ken Bothof announced today the hiring of Craig Klatt as the department's head coach for women's tennis. Klatt, formerly an assistant coach for Green Bay's men's tennis team, becomes just the third head coach in the team's 33-year history.

"We are fortunate to have someone of Craig's background and enthusiasm to lead our women's tennis program," said Bothof. "He is familiar not only with our women's tennis team, but our athletics department. We're excited to have him serve as a mentor and teacher for our women's tennis team both on and off the court."

"I'm very excited to continue being a part of the Phoenix family," said Klatt. "I've had the opportunity to help both the men's and women's program at Green Bay in the past, and I am grateful for that. I am excited to be the head coach for the women's tennis team and its great student-athletes."

Most recently, Klatt served as an assistant coach for the Green Bay men's tennis team, aiding the Phoenix in posting a 12-13 dual record and a fourth-place finish at the 2008 Horizon League Championship. During that time, Klatt was also a tennis teaching professional at Western Racquet Club in Green Bay. Klatt currently is the director of junior and women's tennis at Club West in Neenah, Wis.

Klatt's coaching experience includes a seven-season stint at Bay Port High School in Suamico, Wis. Klatt was the head girls coach for five seasons and assistant boys coach for two seasons. He also has worked as a United States Professional Tennis Association instructor at Green Bay Country Club as an on-court professional.
