KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- Green Bay men’s soccer standout Sam Krenzien (Wauwatosa, Wis./West) has been named to the 2012 National Soccer Coaches Association of America Men’s University Division Scholar All-North/Central Region team in recognition for his performance on the field and in the classroom, the NSCAA recently announced.
Starting all 16 games as a midfielder during his junior season in 2012, Krenzien was the only Horizon League player to be recognized on the NSCAA’s first or second teams. He scored two goals and recorded an assist for five total points last season, and was second on the team in both shots and shots on goal with 32 and 11. More impressively, he carries a 3.51 grade point average as a business finance major.
Krenzien will be one of three seniors returning for the Phoenix next season, joined by Ahmad Bah (Brooklyn Park, Minn.) and redshirt senior Sabastian Xiong (Cottage Grove, Wis.).
