INDIANAPOLIS -- Loyola senior Jordan Liles (Lena, Ill.) and UIC junior Andrea Crump (Glenview, Ill.) have been named the Horizon League Field Athletes of the Week.
It is the first award of the outdoor season for both student-athletes.
Liles took first place in the javelin competition at the Chicagoland Championships, beating out a field of 33 throwers with a 58.42m toss. The senior now ranks second in the Horizon League in the event, having just missed out on breaking his own school record he had just set the week prior at the Raleigh Relays.
Also at the Chicagoland Championships, Crump took first place out of 26 with a 11.99-meter triple jump. The junior also took second place in a field of 30 in the long jump, posting a 5.58 meter distance that's second in the Horizon League this season.
Crump and the Flames return to action on Saturday at the Lee Calhoun Invitational in Macomb, Ill. Liles and the Ramblers, meanwhile, will compete in Naperville, Ill., at the Benedictine Eagle Invite this weekend.
