INDIANAPOLIS -- Milwaukee’s Dexter Schleis (Richland Center, Wis.) and Garrett Vetesnik (Germantown, Wis.) have been named the Horizon League Men’s Track and Field Athletes of the Week for the week of March 26 - April 1.
One week after shattering the school record, the Schleis competed in the 400-meter hurdles, finishing in first place with a time of 52.86. The sophomore still ranks in the top-50 in the NCAA with last week’s time.
Vetesnik, a pole vaulter for the Panthers, finished in second place with a height of 5.00m (16-4.75), just shy of his PR which stands second in school history. The height is currently 52nd in the country.
Milwaukee will be back in action on Saturday when it visits cross-town rival Marquette.
