INDIANAPOLIS - Cleveland State senior Phil Orno and Butler senior Molly Casperson have been name Horizon League Tennis Players of the Week for the period of Feb. 8-14.
Orno, a native of Snekkersten, Denmark, went 4-0 on the weekend with two wins at No. 1 singles and two more at No. 1 doubles. He posted a 6-2, 6-0 victory at IPFW on Friday and 6-0, 6-1 win at Dayton on Saturday. Orno also teamed with Ryan Hamning to register an 8-4 win over IPFW and 8-0 triumph at Dayton.
Casperson, a native of Neenah, Wis., went 2-0 in both singles and doubles play last week. She recorded a 6-2, 6-1 triumph against Bradley and 6-1, 6-7, 7-6 victory over Ball State in No. 3 singles. Casperson also paired with Becky Jenkins to notch an 8-6 victory versus Bradley and a 9-7 win over Ball State at No. 1 doubles.
The Cleveland State men return to action on Friday versus Villanova in Milwaukee, Wis., while the Butler women host Cincinnati.
