INDIANAPOLIS – Detroit senior Lesley Hanna (Exuma, Bahamas) and Wright State junior Cassandra Lloyd (Springfield, Ohio) are the Men’s and Women’s Track Athletes of the Week and Youngstown State senior Alisha Anthony (Van Wert, Ohio) and Milwaukee junior Ben Crogan (Waterford, Wis.) earned Horizon League Field Athlete of the Week accolades.
Wright State competed at the All-Ohio Championships last weekend, April 15-16, where Lloyd won the 110-meter hurdles. She finished in a time of 13.83 and currently leads the Horizon League in the event.
Hanna competed in the 200 - and 400-meter events at the Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut, California on Friday (April 15). He won the 400m out of 43 competitors, lowering his own school record to 46.72, and placed 11th in the 200m. On Saturday, he competed in the Long Beach State Invite where he set a school record in the 200m (21.07). He is currently leading the Horizon League in both events.
Anthony has earned her second consecutive Women’s Field Athlete of the Week honor and was named Best Female Jumper in Ohio at the All-Ohio Championships last weekend. She won the long jump (5.81m) and triple jump (12.10m) and is ranked in the top five in the Horizon League in both events.
Crogan broke Milwaukee’s pole vault record last weekend at the Dave Rankin Invitational. He took second place with a vault of 5.15 meters on his frist attempt at the height. Crogan currently leads the League in the pole vault.
The Titans return to action on Friday (April 22) competing in the EMU Twilight in Ypsilanti, Mich. and Youngstown State will compete in the Sparky Adams Invite on Saturday (April 23) in Berea, Ohio. Milwaukee travels to Bloomington, Ind. to compete in the Polytan Invitational on April 21-23. Wright State competes at the Jesse Owns Classic in Columbus, Ohio on Saturday and Sunday (April 23-24).
