Youngstown - Youngstown State senior Jen Perugini was selected to the 2005 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District IV First Team, the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) announced on Thursday.
Perugini, who hails from Sault Ste. Marie, Ont., sports a 3.66 cumulative grade-point average with a major in physical education.
The 6-foot-2 forward also leads the Horizon League and ranks 11th nationally with 10.9 rebounds per game and ranks second in scoring with 14.4 points per game. She is the only player in the Horizon League averaging a double-double.
This season, Perugini, who has recorded 11 double-doubles, became the 16th player in school history to score 1,000 career points and currently ranks 13th with 1,144 points. She is also just the second player in school history to collect 1,000 points, 800 rebounds and 100 blocked shots in a career.
