INDIANAPOLIS—Wright State’s Clement Quilliec (Brest, France) and Milwaukee’s Becky Yokosh (Oconomowoc, Wis.) have been named Horizon League Men’s and Women’s Swimmers of the Week while Milwaukee’s K.J. Heger (Rockford, Ill.) and Oakland’s Tricia Grant (West Bloomfield, Mich.) have been named Horizon League Men’s and Women’s Divers of the Week for the week of Jan. 28-Feb. 3.
Quilliec led the Raiders in the pool in a dual meet victory against Xavier at the WSU Natatorium on Friday. He finished first in his two individual events, winning the 200-individual medley in a time of 1:54.37 and the 100-breastroke with a time of 59.05. Quilliec was also a member of the first-place 400-medley relay team that posted a time of 3:26.55. His performance in the pool against Xavier earned him his third Horizon League honor this season.
Yokosh earns her first League accolade this year leading Milwaukee to a dual meet victory against conference-foe Green Bay. On senior day, she broke her own pool record in the 100-backstroke with a winning time of 57.14 and placed third in the 50-freestyle with a time of 24.45. Yokosh also helped break the pool record in the 400-medley relay that finished with a time of 3:48.13. With the win over Green Bay, the Milwaukee women’s team remains undefeated on the season.
Heger swept both boards against Green Bay for the seventh time this season to earn his seventh Horizon League honor on the year. The junior won the 1-meter with a score of 346.35 and 3-meter posting a score of 338.02. Against Big Ten-foe Northwestern, Heger finished first on the 1-meter board with a score of 316.20 and took second-place on the 3-meter board collecting a score of 337.20.
Grant earned her seventh League accolade this year as she swept both diving events at IUPUI. She posted her second-best score of the season on the 1-meter board with a score of 304.32. On the 3-meter board, the junior won with a score of 310.65 to mark the eighth time she has taken first-place in both diving events on the season.
Wright State travels to Columbus, Ohio to take on Ohio State in a dual meet Friday, Feb. 7 at 6 p.m. EST. Milwaukee also hits the water Friday as it hosts in-state rival Wisconsin at 4 p.m. EST. Oakland takes a short break from competition as it prepares for the Horizon League Championships Feb. 26-March 1.
