INDIANAPOLIS -- University of Illinois at Chicago junior Chris Rutta and University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee senior Andy Hetebrueg have been named Horizon League Baseball Players of the Week for the period of April 27-May 3.

A native of Rothschild, Wis., Rutta picks up Batter of the Week accolades after going 7-for-13 (.538) with two doubles, one triple, two homers, two runs and eight RBI in four games last week. He also registered a 1.308 slugging percentage and .625 on-base percentage for the Flames.

The outfielder belted a pair of three-run roundtrippers in decisive five-run innings last week -- one against the University of Notre Dame on Tuesday and the other vs. Wright State University on Saturday.

Rutta owns a .375 batting average with five long balls and 26 RBI in 20 games this season.

A native of West Bend, Wis., Hetebrueg notches Pitcher of the Week honors after allowing just two hits over 8.1 scoreless innings last week. He issued just one walk while striking out nine for the Panthers.

The right-hander won his only decision -- a 12-1 victory over Cleveland State University on Sunday. He took a no-hitter into the sixth frame and faced just three over the seven-inning minimum.

Hetebrueg owns a 3-3 record and 6.08 ERA in 10 appearances this season.

UIC improved to 20-20 overall and 13-5 in League play with a 3-1 week. The Flames knocked off Notre Dame on Tuesday and took two of three from Wright State over the weekend.

Milwaukee improved to 21-21 overall and 10-6 in League action with a 5-2 week. The Panthers picked up two wins against Northern Illinois University on Tuesday, one vs. Northwestern University on Wednesday and split four contests against Cleveland State over the weekend.
