MALE CO-SWIMMERS OF THE MEET

Demchuk won two individual events and was runner-up in a third, on his way to earning Co-Swimmer of the Meet and Co-Athlete of the Year honors. His victories in the 1000-yard freestyle (9:18.59) and the 400-yard individual medley (3:56.21) were supplemented by his second-place effort in the 200-yard backstroke (1:49.89). He also achored the winning and Horizon League record-setting 800-freestyle relay (6:41.64).

Hill was named Co-Swimmer of the Meet after winning two individual events and earning second-place in another. He won the 500-yard freestyle (4:28.70), was runner-up in the 200-yard free (1:39.57), and on the final day of the meet, sprinted to victory in the 100-yard freestyle from the outside lane, posting a time of 45.18.

FEMALE SWIMMER OF THE MEET

Weidert was named Swimmer of the Meet and Athlete of the Year after winning three individuals titles, each time setting a new Horizon League record. She won the 200 yard individual medley (2:04.16), the 400-yard individual medley (4:24.27) and the 200-yard breaststroke (2:18.63).

Baiko won both the one and three-meter diving events, coming from 30 points down in the final two dives of the three-meter to win with a score of 325.95. He went on to take the one-meter as well, posting a League-leading score of 322.65.

McGraw was the victor in the one-meter event on Thursday, posting a total of 276.55. She was then the runner-up in the three-meter only to teammate Kari Helland. McGraw scored 245.10, just eight points behind Helland.

Green Bay women, Wright State men earn 2008 Horizon LeagueSwimming & Diving titles

The Wright State University men's swimming and diving team nabbed their second-straight title while the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay women's team picked up their fourth consecutive Horizon League championship last weekend.

On the men's side, the Raiders (794) were followed by runner-up Cleveland State University (675), third-place University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (632), University of Illinois at Chicago (572), Green Bay (545.5) and Valparaiso University rounding out the field (193.5).

The Phoenix women won with a score of 832 points, followed by Wright State (771), Milwaukee (732) and UIC (393). Coming in fifth was Youngstown State University (295), followed by Valparaiso (260), Cleveland State (187), and Butler University (143).

Women's Newcomer of the Year, Krystyna Wieczerzak of Wright State, won two individual events, including a record-setting performance in the 200-yard backstroke (1:59.98). The men's Newcomer honoree, Deni Gasparin of Cleveland State, won the 200-yard breaststroke (2:01.02) and was second in the 100-yard breaststroke.

A total of 14 Horizon League records were set at this year's championship meet, four on the men's side and 10 for the women. Seven of the 14 marks were set by relay teams, while other notable record-breaking performances include the 200-yard freestyle by the Wright State's Mabel Fernandez (1:51.66), the 200-yard butterfly by the Raiders' Warren Thompson (1:47.93) and the 200 fly by Milwaukee's Molly Finn (2:03.79).
