Chicago, Ill. - The College Baseball Foundation announced on Monday evening, that University of Illinois at Chicago sophomore pitcher Ryan Zink (Madison, Wis./LaFollette) has been named to the National Honor Roll for the period ending March 20th.
Zink, a Madison, Wis., native, helped UIC to its fourth-consecutive victory, tossing a career-high, 10 innings, while striking out nine batters and scattering 10 hits in the Flames' 2-1 non-conference win over Iowa in 10 innings on Mar. 18th.
For the season, Zink is 1-3 with an ERA of 3.79 and 24 strikeouts in 35.2 innings pitched.
UIC will be back in action on Friday afternoon, as they will compete against cross-town rival Chicago State at Les Miller Field at 4:05 p.m.
