Loyola senior Maggie McCloskey became the Horizon League's all-time leader in three-point field goals (279) over the weekend. She scored a combined 40 points on 12-of-18 from beyond the arc against Cleveland State and Youngstown State.Green Bay's 33 consecutive regular-season wins are an all-time Horizon League record. The Phoenix's 34 consecutive regular-season conference victories are also an all-time Horizon League best.Green Bay is the first team in Horizon League women's basketball history to go undefeated in regular-season non-conference action (11-0).Green Bay (15-0) is one of just five NCAA Division I women's teams without a loss. Georgia (16-0) is the only undefeated squad with more wins than the Phoenix.Green Bay is ranked No. 17 in the most-recent Associated Press poll (Jan. 11) and No. 18 in the latest ESPN/USA Today Coaches poll (Jan. 5). The Phoenix's best all-time ranking of No. 16 came during the 2002-03 season.Youngstown State's Brandi Brown, who is averaging 10.9 rebounds per contest, is the only freshman to lead the Horizon League in a major statistical category. She has collected double-figure boards on eight occasions this season.HORIZON LEAGUE TEAM NOTESBUTLER BULLDOGS (9-5 overall, 2-1 HL)Beth Couture has tied June Olkowski (1993-99) for second place in Butler history with 114 wins. She needs 10 more victories to equal the school record.Butler is 5-1 at Hinkle Fieldhouse this season. The Bulldogs are also 21-7 in their last 28 conference home games.Butler is shooting .767 at the free-throw line over the last six games.Junior Brittany Bowen has made 28 of her last 30 (.933) free-throw attempts.
CLEVELAND STATE VIKINGS (7-8 overall, 2-2 HL)
Senior Kailey Klein is just 94 points shy of breaking Cleveland State's all-time scoring record (1,851 points).Junior Shawnita Garland dished out a career-high eight assists in Saturday's 73-64 win at UIC.The Vikings turned in a season-best free-throw percentage (19-23, .826) at UIC.Cleveland State has now won four straight games vs. the Flames.CSU has grabbed at least 10 offensive rebounds in 14 of 15 games this year.
DETROIT TITANS (4-10 overall, 2-1 HL)
Sophomore Yar Shayok collected a career-high six steals in Thursday's 59-57 win at Milwaukee.Detroit's victory was its first at the UWM's Klotsche Center since March 3, 2005.
#17/18 GREEN BAY PHOENIX (15-0 overall, 4-0 HL)
Green Bay leads the Horizon League in 12 of 20 statistical categories.Green Bay ranks in the NCAA's top 20 for nine different statistical categories.Junior Kayla Tetschlag, who places second in the League with 15.7 points per contest, has reached the 10-point plateau in seven straight affairs.The Phoenix has won its first 15 games by an average of 19.1 points. UWGB has only had one single-digit spread in 2009-10 -- a 60-58 win over Wisconsin.
LOYOLA RAMBLERS (8-7 overall, 2-2 HL)
Loyola's eight wins already equal its total from the 2008-09 season.Loyola's 2-2 start in the Horizon League is its best since opening the 2002-03 campaign 4-0.Senior Elyse VanBogaert posted her first double-double of the year (11 pts/10 rebs) in Saturday's 75-49 victory over Youngstown State.Loyola is 8-1 this season when leading or tied at the half.
MILWAUKEE PANTHERS (6-9 overall, 1-3 HL)
Junior Lindsay Laur registered two double-doubles last week, the ninth and 10th of her career. She tallied a career-best 22 points and 11 rebounds on Monday at Cleveland State and 18 points and 14 boards on Thursday against Detroit.Milwaukee forced a season-high 19 turnovers vs. Wright State on Saturday.The Panthers had their 15-game winning streak with four players reaching double-figures snapped in Thursday's loss to Detroit.UWM is on a three-game League skid for the first time since Feb. 11-20, 1999.
UIC FLAMES (6-9 overall, 3-1 HL)
Senior Cassie Johnson has tied UIC's all-time blocked shots record (149).UIC won its 300th game as a Division I program on Monday at Butler.UIC won three straight games from Jan. 2-7 for the first time this year. The Flames have not reeled off four consecutive victories since Dec. 30, 2008-Jan. 9, 2009.All 11 players scored and played at least 10 minutes in Thursday's 78-59 win over Youngstown State.UIC recorded a season-high 27 assists against YSU.
VALPARAISO CRUSADERS (4-10 overall, 1-2 HL)
Junior Kelly Watts has collected three straight double-figure rebounding efforts, including 16 boards against Loyola and 15 at Butler last week.Freshman Laura Richards posted a career-high 10 points on Saturday at Butler.Valparaiso has not allowed more than 62 points in six consecutive contests.After the two games in Ohio this week, Valparaiso will have played 10 of its last 13 tilts away from the Athletics-Recreation Center.
WRIGHT STATE RAIDERS (5-8 overall, 1-2 HL)
Wright State owns a 13-4 record the past two years when scoring at least 60 points.Junior LaShawna Thomas paced Wright State with 15 points on Thursday at Green Bay, while senior Kanisha Ward and sophomore Molly Fox scored 15 each on Saturday at Milwaukee.The Raiders have not played a home game since Dec. 2. WSU went 2-6 on the most-recent eight-game road trip, which covered nearly 3,400 miles.
YOUNGSTOWN STATE PENGUINS (0-15 overall, 0-4 HL)
Sophomore Macey Nortey posted a career-high nine assists on Thursday at UIC. Nortey followed that up with six dimes at Loyola, all of which came in the first half. She leads the League with 5.3 assists per game.Sophomore Kenya Middlebrooks scored a career-high 16 points at UIC behind a career-best four three-pointers.The Penguins made a season-best 10 treys at UIC. It was the first time they sank at least 10 since Jan. 31, 2008.
