Wright State's Greene, Hoelzel Tabbed to Weekly Baseball Honors

INDIANAPOLIS -- Wright State senior Kieston Greene and senior teammate Joey Hoelzel have been named Horizon League Baseball Players of the Week for the period of Mar. 11-17.

Greene started in three victories and hit .500, including the game-winning hit vs. UIC, to earn Batter of the Week honors. Down 7-5 in the ninth inning, the Raiders stormed back to defeat the Flames, 8-5. Greene capped the rally with a two-out single to drive in the winning run. For the game, he was 3-for-5 with a double and two RBI. In game two, Greene went 4-for-5 with a double and two RBI. For the three game series vs. UIC, he went 7-for-14 with seven runs, five RBI and two doubles.

Hoelzel started in game one against UIC and pitched 7.0 innings to earn Pitcher of the Week honors. The right-handed pitcher fanned five batters and yielded four earned runs on nine hits to earn the victory. On the season, Hoelzel is 3-2 with a 3.50 ERA.

David Saluga, Youngstown State (Sr., OF) – Had five hits and two walks in eight plate appearances at Eastern Kentucky, good for a .833 batting average. Also platted six runs.
