Youngstown State Falls to Xavier in Non-Conference Action

Cincinnati, Ohio - Youngstown State fell 67-57 to Xavier at the Cintas Center on Friday. With the loss, YSU, slips to 6-6 on the season. After trailing by 10 points at the half (33-23), the Penguins used a 19-10 run to cut the deficit to one point (43-42) in the second period. The Muskateers answered back by outscoring YSU 20-10 in the final nine minutes. Youngstown State was led by Jen Perugini who tallied 17 points, while Lauren Branson followed with 12 and Cathy Hanek chipped in 10. Youngstown State will be back in action as it will travel to Chicago to face UIC in Horizon League play on Jan. 6.
