UIC's Yemm Narrowly Misses Semis in 100 Fly

OMAHA, Neb. -- UIC alumni Steve Yemm and Brian Anderson took to the pool at the CenturyLink Center during the United States Olympic Swim Team Trials on Friday, competing in the 100 butterfly and 50 freestyle, respectively.

Yemm, the 2010 Horizon League champion in the 100 fly, narrowly missed qualifying for the semifinals, finishing 21st in a time of 53.42. Yemm was three places from becoming an alternate for the semifinals, as the top 18 times in the morning session moved into the evening.

Anderson, the 2010 Horizon League Swimmer of the Year, was competing in the 50 free and touched the wall in 24.02.
